2021 Fall Program info

Unfortunately, Soccer Tots and Soccer Skills are being cancelled this Fall due to a lack of school facilities. We are, however, welcoming back many of our children’s programs as Preschool, Floor Hockey, Children’s Learn to Dance, and St. John’s Babysitting.

If you have a City of Regina Affordable Fun Card, you may be eligible for discounts on our programs.

Note: Age restrictions may apply to some programs.

Registration is on a first-come basis. Pre-registration for preschool is required!

BRICKS 4 KIDZ

Early Engineers LEGO® Technics Class (Ages 6+)

From the award-winning Bricks 4 Kidz Program, this LEGO® Engineering class teaches students ages 6+ to build simple machines and powered gadgets based on real-world structural concepts using LEGO® bricks. Each class features 5- 10 minutes of formal instruction on a specific Science, Engineering or Technology concept, then kids will build and upgrade the LEGO® model of the day using their own Project Kit.

Coding & Video Game Design (Ages 8+)

From the award-winning Bricks 4 Kidz Program, students will create games that will help them develop a range of coding & problem-solving skills, and also help them later move onto real-world computer programming. Game designers think creatively, reason systematically, & work collaboratively to create fun video games. Starting them at an early age to succeed in a tech-based environment. STEM concepts and teamwork are combined in this action-packed program where kids learn real-life skills while having real-kid fun!

BADMINTON

We are introducing Seniors Badminton on Saturday mornings. Registration is limited due to facility availability, therefore registration for East Zone and DECA area players is Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00 pm at the Glencairn Recreation Centre.

Other community players can contact Evelyn e.fowlie@sasktel.net to be put on a waitlist.

TENTATIVE START DATE IS SATURDAY, Dec. 4th, 2021 due to facility renovations.

BODY BLAST

Instructor Alla Hutsol offers the body blast workout, giving high energy and motivation, to work hard on your body to stay healthy and lose weight.

This workout allows you to focus on different areas of your body including, legs, core, arms as well as cardio.

Participants will need to bring comfortable clothing that will allow movement, shoes, a towel, a yoga mat and water.

BELLYDANCE

Belly Dance is a fun, safe form of exercise and a great way for ladies to make friends! All classes focus on teaching good techniques while building self-confidence and a positive body image. Classes will also expose students to several kinds of Middle Eastern music, folkloric dance, props, and the history of belly dancing so they can appreciate this beautiful art form. We offer 3 levels of dance based on experience.

FOREVER IN MOTION

FOREVER IN MOTION UPDATE

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOREVER IN MOTION CLASSES WHICH WERE RESCHEDULED TO COMMENCE THE WEEK OF NOV. 15 TH HAVE BEEN FURTHER POSTPONED AS FOLLOWS:

The Monday Forever in Motion class will not commence until Monday, January 10th as the Saskatchewan Health Authority has not been able to

find a FIM leader for Mondays.

The Thursday, Forever in Motion will not commence until Thursday, December 2nd . and will run until December 16th ., and then resume again Thursday, January 13th , 2022.

PEN & INK WITH OIL

With instructor Doris-Kaye Wiens, you will learn how to ink with a technical pen and add color called "oil rouging". The effect is elegant and breathtaking. We will offer two classes, one to make a beautiful Fall Scene, and another for a Christmas Scene. (Materials are included).

Pickleball: Due to the overwhelming growth of Pickleball, we will be running 5 sessions a week once again. Priority will be given to East Zone and DECA area residents first, and all players must register for which day they wish to play, but are limited to 2 days a week to allow more players to participate. The cost will be $15 per session per day of the week for the year. (ie. A player wanting to play Tuesday and Thursday will register and pay $15 for Tuesday and $15 for Thursday).

In-person-only registration for East Zone and DECA players is Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00 pm at the Glencairn Recreation Centre.

To avoid congestion and keep socially distant, Pickleball registrants are asked to use the back door, and all other program registrants are asked to use the front door.

VIRTUAL DANCE FITNESS

Virtual Dance Fitness is a virtual choreographed dance fitness class with a current music playlist that has been prerecorded by a fitness instructor. You will burn calories and have fun dancing in a judgment-free zone. There is also an in-person instructor lead strength training class once a week included in this session.

A year-round fitness class consisting of Shine Fitness and Strength Training.
