Registration is on a first-come basis. Pre-registration for preschool is required!

BRICKS 4 KIDZ

Early Engineers LEGO® Technics Class (Ages 6+)

From the award-winning Bricks 4 Kidz Program, this LEGO® Engineering class teaches

students ages 6+ to build simple machines and powered gadgets based on real-world

structural concepts using LEGO® bricks. Each class features 5- 10 minutes of formal

instruction on a specific Science, Engineering or Technology concept, then kids will build and

upgrade the LEGO® model of the day using their own Project Kit. Students work on specific

challenges each class in a safe, fun, and collaborative setting while allowing them to practice

fine motor skills, socialization, and direction following. Each 5 or 6 week session will focus

on a different theme, such as Space, Dinosaurs, Interesting Inventions, etc.

Coding & Video Game Design (Ages 8+)

The ability to code is a key component of technology education today. Our coding program

will teach students important strategies to enhance their logic and problem-solving skills, as

well as help them work toward becoming technological innovators of tomorrow. Our

program offers a skill-level progression of coding concepts. Students will be introduced to

basic coding with fun, user-friendly coding software.

 3 Sessions:

TEEN FITNESS

Instructor Alla Hutsol will introduce a new Teen Fitness class this winter.   (age 11+)  

This program is for teenagers of all levels of fitness. Classes will include warm-up, cardio, muscular training, flexibility, strength increase and confidence strength, energetic and fun environment.

If you're interested, we welcome you to our fitness team and you will gain many benefits to your health.

Participants will need running shoes, shorts or exercise pants, T-shirts, water bottles. Cell phones are not permitted during the classes.

We are offering Seniors Badminton on Saturday mornings.  Registration is limited due to facility availability, therefore registration is offered to East Zone and DECA community members initially. Other community players can contact Evelyn e.fowlie@sasktel.net to be added to the waitlist.

BELLYDANCE

Belly Dance is a fun, safe form of exercise and a great way for ladies to make friends! All classes focus on teaching good techniques while building self-confidence and a positive body image. Classes will also expose students to several kinds of Middle Eastern music, folkloric dance, props, and the history of belly dancing so they can appreciate this beautiful art form. We offer 3 levels of dance based on experience.

Due to growing covid concerns, the BELLYDANCE instructors have decided to run their class VIA ZOOM (As a virtual class) for the Winter 2022 session.

The instructors will provide all registrants with the required zoom information.   

FOREVER IN MOTION

We offer two drop in fitness classes for seniors.

The Monday Forever in Motion class is cancelled due to no Leader.

Thursday Forever in Motion will commence Thursday, January 13th, to  June 16, 2022, 9am - 10 am.  

Cost:  $5 Community Membership  (available from the class instructor)

PEN & INK WITH OIL

With instructor Doris-Kaye Wiens, you will learn how to ink with a technical pen and add color called "oil rouging". The effect is elegant and breathtaking. We will offer two classes, one to make a beautiful Fall Scene, and another for a Christmas Scene. (Materials are included). 

Two Classes will be offered:

Spring Scene - Thursday, April 7 - April 28   

Summer Scene - Thursday, May 5 - May 26

Pickleball: Due to the overwhelming growth of Pickleball, we are running 5 sessions a week once again.  Priority will be given to East Zone and DECA area residents first, and all players must register for which day they wish to play, but are limited to 2 days a week to allow more players to participate. The cost is $15 per session per day of the week for the year. (ie. A player wanting to play Tuesday and Thursday will register and pay $15 for Tuesday and $15 for Thursday).

VIRTUAL DANCE FITNESS

Virtual Dance Fitness is a virtual choreographed dance fitness class with a current music playlist that has been prerecorded by a fitness instructor. You will burn calories and have fun dancing in a judgment-free zone. There is also an in-person instructor lead strength training class once a week included in this session.

A year-round fitness class consisting of Shine Fitness and Strength Training.   Classes are held at the Glencairn Recreation Centre, 2626 Dewdney Ave E.

Instructor Jamie Howie will be returning with ZUMBA@The Original Dance-Fitness Party!

Zumba® classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before you know it, you'll be getting fit and your energy levels will be soaring! It's easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating. Participants will need a small towel, runners with worn or less grip, a water bottle and your smiles!

Instructor Alla Hutsol offers this multi-level class that invites participants to learn the basics of yoga breath and movement. Suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners, each class will focus on moving through postures (Asana) and thoughtful breathing exercises.
